Summer time is all about ‘sand between your toes, and umbrellas in your drinks’.
Sadly we’re stuck in Dubai, the luxuries of Ramadan timings long gone, and its business as usual.
Doesn’t mean that we can’t make the most of it, right?
We recently received a hamper from the guys at Cointreau, laden with beautiful ingredients and mixers, some of which we’ve never seen before. Like purees from Sicoly, a jar of Amarena cherries from Toschi, lots of colorful fruit and veg from Classic Fine Foods, and more. The possibilities were endless.
East Imperial Sodas and Tonics
Namrata and I spent last Saturday experimenting with Cointreau, this orange flavoured liquor which I always assumed was orange in colour but turns out it’s not! We tried spritzers, margaritas, cosmos… soon realising that the fewer the ingredients, the better it tasted (and easier to make as we’re no mixologists!). In fact, just want to lift my hat to all the bartenders out there who make the fanciest drinks: its hard work! And we’ve totally underestimated the skill.
We had success with this one cocktail and would like to share the recipe with you. Happy sipping!
