Darling, Let’s Go Home

Gayathri of Darling Let’s Go Home.

The three of us were in the same high school. We used to complain about how we got stuck with the worst school uniforms ever made. We had a few questionable hair choices. We used to call ourselves the lollipop girls to be silly (I have tried and tried and tried but I can’t seem to remember where that name came from). We drifted apart after high school and are now back in touch and doing all these creative things.

It was only fitting that we came together for the photo-shoot for this blog. When Nancy and I decided that we were going to start this blog, we thought it would be nice to have a picture taken that wasn’t a selfie on a birthday via iPhone. Why not, right? The fun day of photo taking that followed that conversation went beyond expectations. Gayathri Krishnan Erlings dressed us up, lent us her apartment and styled the shoot. The lollipop girls were reunited and Nancy and I were made to feel like super models.

Ever since this blog has gone live, we have been asked over and over again as to where these pictures were taken. Some people asked about the “name of the cafe” because they really wanted to check it out. It wasn’t a cafe, folks. It was my dear friend Gayathri’s home that was put together and pulled apart all for the She Said duo.

This blog is meant to be dedicated to food based things and occasional “work-outs” and this is neither. I realize that. However, I couldn’t miss this opportunity to share with you what Gayathri has created; it’s something a tad magical.

She said, She said would like to introduce to you – Darling Let’s Go Home – Interiors and Design. Mixing a mid-century modern aesthetic with vintage one-of-a-kind pieces, Gaya used a melange of texture, color, fabric and furnishings ranging from various periods in design history, creating spaces with character and a story to tell. If you have a space that needs transformation or if you know of someone who has a space that needs transformation, She says that you need to call Darling Let’s Go Home!
