In one word – YES!
When it comes to understated luxury hotels in Dubai, the Park Hyatt stands out. I don’t like talking about it too much because I want it to remain special, untouched, away from the crowds. When a place gets too popular and everyone goes there, its not so special anymore. Like some of the opulent beach front properties in the Jumeirah area.
I’ve been in love with the Park Hyatt for a long time… its so meaningful to me that my husband and I got married there in 2012. Sure, its located in Deira but when you drive up to the hotel, its literally like a sanctuary in the middle of the city. Serene, tranquil, with muted tones of cream and browns, candlelights flickering through the corridors… just beautiful.
And dining in the hotel is no less. One restaurant that stands out is its signature European restaurant Traiteur, which in my opinion is the most romantic restaurant in Dubai. Its well-known for its Friday brunch but it would be unfair to say that that’s all it’s about. Traiteur’s ala carte menu is equally spectacular, serving classic bistro dishes in a gourmet, modern, fine dining style. There’s good reason why the restaurant has won several local awards. Combined with the beautiful interiors, white linen, and spot-on service, makes for a wonderful, memorable evening.
Here’s some of the dishes we’ve tried and love:
Amuse-bouche – asparagus, celeriac foam, poached egg
Swordfish ceviche with cucumber, lemon verbena jelly and truffle veloute
Pan seared pigeon with foie gras, blueberry and almond creme
Marinated Heirloom Tomatoes, burrata, and crostini
Grilled scallops with chestnut, confit celeriac and green apple
Gillardeau oysters with raspberry mignonette
Duck A l’orange
Mulwarra beef rossini
Tempted yet? These are some of the super talented chefs behind those beautiful dishes..
Traiteur is a fantastic spot for date night, or to celebrate a special occasion, or simply if you’re looking for a fine night out. She totally recommends it! Just don’t tell the whole world, let it be our secret?
