It was one of those lazy afternoons. The She Said duo and husband were literally just driving around with no destination in mind. Stuck in some pretty awful traffic on Beach Road on a Friday afternoon (something we weren’t expecting), our moods were testy and a decision on where to go was going nowhere.
Finally, we accidentally stumbled upon Kif Kif and with parking just outside, we decided to check it out. The plan was to “snack” because we hadn’t had lunch and were most likely going to eat dinner a little while later.
The space is simply adorable. It is small, giving it the coziest of feelings and the decor is lovely. We decided to sit outside and enjoy the cool weather. A good vibe all around!
To get us started, we were served some very tasty marinated olives and fresh bread. The olives were delicious and didn’t stand a chance! Given we were in the “snacky mood”, we shared a Chicken Tagine. The chicken was cooked perfectly and was flavorful. The only thing we were struggling a little with were the bones. But if that doesn’t bother you, go wild!
Also, because no snack does well without a cool drink, we had an order of the laban which was served in an adorable mason jar, which she may have wanted to take home with her.
I should mention that I have never had Moroccan food before and I may not be the best person to comment on “authenticity” but I will say that whatever it is that I ate, I really liked. Give this little place a look, folks!
