Rendez-vous a Table at Brasserie Quartier

Thursdays are my favourite day of the week. In my early 20s -*gasp* that was 10 years ago! – end of week meant going to a friend’s house to pre-drink before hitting the clubs, all while wearing heels which I’d also worn all day at work! Geez, who was that person?!

These days, all I want to do is put on my home clothes, order pizza and watch Netflix.

On some Thursdays though, if I can get myself to make plans, it’s usually catching up with friends over some wine and good food.

Couple of weeks ago, my husband and I met up with our friends Andre and Karine at Brasserie Quartier at the St. Regis Hotel. The restaurant hosts ‘Rendez-vous a Table’ night every Thursday, which is a selection of starters, mains and desserts to share, with a glass of wine each.

The evening was the most amazing way to end a long, gruelling week. It was relaxing, there was a nice buzz in the air. If we dint think about it too much, we could well have been in a brasserie in France. My French friend Karine concurred! We chatted, laughed, ate, drank, and before we knew it, we were stuffed and happy.

If you’re looking for a nice place to bring in your weekend, in a more civilized manner if you will, Brasserie Quartier is where you should go!

Here’s some of what we ate:

Traditional wood fired Alsacian thin pizza, topped with sour cream, onion and smoked veal bacon

Other starters included: Crab Caesar salad with a coriander Caesar dressing, Fried calamari with lemon harissa aioli, and steak tartare.

For mains, we had:

Pan roasted sea bream filet, with artichoke and sauce vierge, which is a French sauce made from olive oil, lemon juice, chopped tomato and chopped basil.
