Friendsgiving at the Sheikhs

Our friends Sophia and Reehan throw an epic Thanksgiving dinner every year (or Friendsgiving dinner). He cooks up a feast while she sets the dinner table in all the beautiful warm colors of fall. Together they are the dream team; there’s conversation flowing (and lots of wine) with a lovely group of their friends and family from all over the world.

Its a joy to share these evenings with them in their home – the laughter and stories and amazing food is something I look forward to every year.

Sophia and Reehan Sheikh

Sophia really is the hostess with the most-est. Remember she shared her decor tips for Christmas couple of years ago? She loves to entertain and pulls out all the stops when it comes to themes and decor. She’s got an enviable collection of crockery and linen, but the way it all comes together can only be put down to her fab sense of style and aesthetics.

Sabyasachi plates no less

Its not a party without the food and that’s Reehan’s department in the Sheikhs household. For Thanksgiving every year, he cooks everything from scratch. There’s usually butternut squash soup, turkey and all the trimmings, gravy, stuffing, jalapeno corn bread, pie and more! We did convince him this year to delegate some of the sides to friends but majority was still done by him. Boy what a feast it was!

We wanted to record the evening this year, not only to show you what a beautiful event it was, but also as a keepsake for the Sheikhs to show our gratitude for their friendship. Here is a little video from the evening, hope you enjoy it!

Thankful all year round,

Namrata & Nancy
